What is falooda?
Falooda is a cold dessert you drink and eat at once. A tall glass is layered with sweet flavoured milk, thin noodles, and basil seeds that swell into soft, jelly-coated pearls, then topped with a scoop of ice cream and nuts.
You sip the milk through a straw and eat the noodles, seeds and ice cream with a long spoon.
Where does falooda come from?
Falooda is loved across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and is usually traced back to faloodeh, a Persian dessert of fine noodles in syrup that travelled to India in the Mughal era. Today it's a summer staple at dessert shops from Mumbai to Lahore, made with rose, mango, pistachio and many other flavours.
What faloodas does Dumont make?
Three, each crowned with a scoop of the matching ice cream from our own case: Butterscotch Falooda, Kheer Falooda and Mango Falooda.
Our Kheer Falooda is rose-kissed milk with falooda noodles, basil seeds and roasted nuts, topped with our kheer ice cream (rice pudding with cardamom, saffron and almonds). The Mango Falooda layers mango milk with mango ice cream, and the Butterscotch Falooda pairs butterscotch milk with our butterscotch ice cream. Both of those finish with roasted nuts and tutti frutti.

How big is a falooda? Can I share one?
It comes in a tall cup, with milk, noodles, seeds and a full scoop, so it's a dessert on its own. Plenty of people share one with a second spoon.
